Since founding the company in 1852, Lüttges has considered itself primarily to be at the service of the women's world. At first, the company produced a new type of crinolines, forming petticoats with wasp waists. Even when further product groups have been joined in the course of the expansion - the company always has an eye on the female fashion trends: Accessories and additional equipment for ladies' underwear and swimwear, for ladies' wear such as evening dresses, bride fashion and traditional costumes, but also for sportswear and leisurewear.

The modernisation of the product range, opening up plastics as a new material, thus the own development of innovative plastic bonings as well as the introduction of the product brand „DESIRA“ stand for current company and product policy. Opening up new fields of application such as orthopaedics as well as new markets in the general industrial area, at home and abroad, give expression to a competence being recognised – worldwide.
